Only Fools and Horses (1981–1984) Leonard Pearce (9 February 1915 – 15 December 1984) was an English actor who worked in theatre and television. He was perhaps best known for playing Grandad in the BBC television series Only Fools and Horses, from 1981 until his death in December 1984.

Born and raised in London, Lennard received his training as an actor at the ‘Royal Academy of Dramatic Art,’ in London. As a young theater actor in the 1930s, he performed some plays in Germany.
3 nov 2022 · Lennard's death came just as the show was hitting its stride, with filming for the fourth season already underway. Suffering from hypertension throughout the 80s, Lennard was never in good health while working on Only Fools and Horses and after two consecutive heart attacks in December 1984 he died aged 69.

3 lug 2021 · Lennard Pearce, who played Grandad in Only Fools and Horses, sadly passed away in 1984 aged 69 while season 4 of the show was still in production (Image: BBC). At one point Uncle Albert reveals he and Grandad used to grift pubs by falling down stairs on purpose and claiming compensation.
