The Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama (Welsh: Coleg Brenhinol Cerdd a Drama Cymru) is a conservatoire located in Cardiff, Wales. It includes three theatres: the Richard Burton Theatre, the Bute Theatre, and the Caird Studio.
The College presents hundreds of events a year, from orchestral concerts and recitals to drama, opera, jazz, new music and musical theatre, performed by our students and a diverse array of world-class artists from around the globe.
Cardiff is a cost-effective city for students. Our campus hosts major events such as BBC Cardiff Singer of the World, World Stage Design, World Harp Congress and BBC Young Musician of the Year. We are the only Steinway-Exclusive Conservatoire in the world, and every acoustic piano at the College is a Steinway.
The Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama is Wales’ national conservatoire, offering courses in music, drama, design and arts management. Our students’ extraordinary talent and potential is fused with exceptional teaching and unrivalled industry links, to bring dreams to life.
The iconic and architecturally stunning Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama is world-class - uniquely historic and contemporary. Overlooking Cardiff Castle at the heart of the Welsh capital, it is one of Wales' most sought-after venues.
The Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama attracts the best creative talent from across the globe. As Wales’ national conservatoire, we fire imagination and drive innovation, offering training to more than 800 actors, musicians, designers, technicians and arts managers from more than 40 countries.
