Like many of the figures of Roman mythology, Jupiter was appropriated from the Greeks, and is virtually identical to the supreme God Zeus in Greek mythology. Jupiter was known as the Roman god of the heavens and the sky.
He was the god of the sky and, along with the help of the kings of the time, established principles of the Roman religion. His similarities with Zeus and the Greek myths didn’t stop with their connections with the sky and thunderbolts. Jupiter was brother to two other gods: Neptune and Pluto.
