Admissions. In the academic year 2021-22 it had 2080 full-time students. [1] The catchment area spreads across several areas of the North West of England, incorporating much of Wigan, Bolton, Preston, Salford, West Lancashire, Chorley, Warrington, St. Helens, Sefton and Knowsley .

The college is growing, with encouraging recruitment for the years 2021/2022 and 2022/2023. The college currently has over 2300 students, with over 1000 students in the upper year (1009), and thanks to an excellent recruitment seen for the year 2022/2023, over 1250 students in the lower year (1253).
