Rudolph Weaver (April 17, 1880 – November 10, 1944) was an American architect, university professor and administrator renowned for various buildings that he designed in Florida, Idaho and Washington, many of which are academic.

Designed by Rudolph Weaver in the Collegiate Gothic architectural style, the building was built in 1936. Because the Great Depression caused a shortage of funds, the building took several years to construct, and its distinctive stained glass windows on the east facade were not placed until 1938.

Built in 1926, it was designed by noted University of Florida architect and professor Rudolph Weaver and built by G. Lloyd Preacher & Company. On August 16, 1982, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places as the Dixie Hotel, Hotel Kelley.

Biographical/Historical Note. Rudolph Weaver was the Architect to the Florida Board of Control as well as the first director of the School of Architecture at the University of Florida. He taught at the University of Illinois and the University of Idaho prior to coming to Florida in 1925.
