  4. It is the result of a merger of three of the ITs in the County Dublin area - Dublin Institute of Technology, IT Tallaght and IT Blanchardstown. Several Technological Universities have since been set up in the country. Munster TU was established 01 January 2021 through a merger of Cork IT and IT Tralee (Kerry).

  5. Description. The Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) was statutorily established as an autonomous institution on 1 January 1993, under the Dublin Instute of Technology Act (1992). It was constituted from the six higher education colleges of the City of Dublin Vocational Education Committee.
