Mick Donnellan completed the MA in Writing at NUI Galway in 2004. Since then he has worked as a novelist, journalist, travel writer, teacher and playwright. In 2011, he founded Truman Town Theatre and produced the “Ballinrobe Trilogy” of plays: Sunday Morning Coming Down (2011), Gun Metal Grey (2011) and Shortcut to Hallelujah (2012).

Donnellan served as a member of Galway County Council from 1927 until 1945, originally as a member of Fianna Fáil.
