Elisabeth Luther (10 December [ O.S. 1 December] 1527 [1] – 3 August [ O.S. 25 July] 1528 [1]) was the first daughter and second child born to German priest and iconic figure of the Protestant Reformation, Martin Luther and his wife, Katharina von Bora. She did not survive infancy.

With her life and her hymn, she becomes a witness, an example, and a proclaimer of the gospel to us almost 500 years later.
