Biografia. Originario dell' Armenia, partecipò a cinque edizioni dei Giochi Olimpici fra il 1956 e il 1972 vincendo due volte la medaglia di bronzo ( Roma 1960 e Tokyo 1964 ). Fu inoltre per tre volte campione europeo nel 1958, 1962 e 1969 .

Igor Aramovich Ter-Ovanesjan (russo: Игорь Арамович Тер-Ованесян) (Kiev, 19 maggio 1938) è un ex Russo sovietico atleta, quelli in anni sessanta una delle migliori salto lungo del mondo. Ha vinto due bronzo medaglie sul Olimpiadi del 1960 e del 1964. Inoltre, ha vinto cinque medaglie Campionati europei, di cui tre d'oro.
Ter-Ovanesyan set two world records during his career, both at high altitude – 8.31 in June 1962 at Yerevan and 8.35 in October 1967 at Mexico City. Ter-Ovanesyan won 15 Soviet titles – in 1957, 1959-60, 1962-69 and 1971 in long jump and in 1958, 1959 and 1963 in 4x100 relay.
