Juraj Jakubisko ( Kojšov, 30 aprile 1938 – Praga, 24 febbraio 2023) è stato un regista e sceneggiatore slovacco . I suoi film sono caratterizzati da poesia, bizzarria e giocosità. Juraj Jakubisko (30 April 1938 – 24 February 2023) was a Slovak film director. He directed fifteen feature films, between 1967 and 2008. He often took on the dual role of cinematographer, and is often also credited as a screenplay writer as he usually co-writes or writes the scripts of his movies.

Juraj Jakubisko was born on 30 April 1938 in Kojsov, Czechoslovakia [now Slovakia]. He was a director and writer, known for Kristove roky (1967), Bathory: Countess of Blood (2008) and Perinbaba (1985). He was married to Deana Horváthová. He died on 24 February 2023 in Prague, Czech Republic.

Slovak director Juraj Jakubisko, who rose to prominence during the Czech (oslovak) New Wave in the 1960s only to be banned from fictional filmmaking for a decade after the Warsaw Pact invasion in 1968, passed away at the age of 84 on Friday in Prague. His daughter Janette Jakubisková confirmed the news to Slovak media on Saturday.
