Kimi-Matias Räikkönen è nato in Finlandia il 17 ottobre 1979. La sua carriera iniziò all’età di dieci anni quando iniziò a correre con successo sui kart, e nel 1998 vinse il Campionato Nordic Karting. In seguito andò a misurarsi nella Formula Ford Euro Cup e conquistò il secondo posto nel Campionato Europeo Formula Super A.
