Martin McAleese (born 24 March 1951) is an Irish politician, dentist and accountant who has served as the Chancellor of Dublin City University since August 2011. He served as a Senator from 2011 to 2013, after being Nominated by the Taoiseach. He is the husband of the 8th President of Ireland, Mary McAleese.

Martin is a politician, accountant and dentist, and currently Chancellor of Dublin City University. As the husband of former President of Ireland Mary McAleese, he used his influence to champion human rights, especially in the area of conflict resolution and reconciliation.
The McAleese Report was published in 2013 following an eighteen-month inquiry, representing the first attempt by the state to examine the country’s church-run Magdalen Laundries and to determine the role of the government and its agencies in their operation throughout the twentieth century.
