Michel Adriaenszoon de Ruyter (Flessinga, 24 marzo 1607 – Siracusa, 29 aprile 1676) è stato un ammiraglio olandese. Ammiraglio olandese, nato a Flessinga il 24 marzo 1607, morto il 29 aprile 1676 a Siracusa. Di umile famiglia, a undici anni si arruolò come mozzo; a quindici fu destinato a terra come artigliere alla difesa di Bergop-Zoom, assediata dallo Spinola.
Nella terza e ultima guerra anglo-olandese (1672-74) R. si batté a Sole Bay contro forze anglo-francesi, che riuscì a sorprendere. Nel 1673 la sua flotta s'incontrò con quella dei collegati, al comando del principe Rupert, battendo separatamente Inglesi e Francesi (battaglia di Schooneveldt); conseguì poi altre vittorie a Texel.
