Ronald Mandel Lott (born May 8, 1959) is an American former professional football player in the National Football League (NFL) for 14 seasons from 1981 to 1994. Lott played college football for the University of Southern California (USC), and was honored as a consensus All-American.

Ronnie Lott, an All-America from Southern California, was the San Francisco 49ers’ first round draft pick and the eighth player chosen overall in the 1981 National Football League Draft. The 6-0, 203-pound defensive back made an immediate impression and was named the starting left cornerback from his first day in training camp.
Instead of trying to hang on, Lott retired. In 14 years in the NFL, Lott had 63 total interceptions for 730 return yards, five touchdowns, 16 forced fumbles, 17 fumble recoveries, 8.5 sacks and 1,146 total tackles. Today is Pro Football Hall of Famer Ronnie Lott's 61st birthday.
